New Delhi, Oct 19 (IANS) A minor fire broke out at the union finance ministry in North Block Friday, police said.
The fire happened on the first floor, in room number 138, next to the office of Minister of State S.S. Palanimanickam.
"The fire department received the call at about 4:30 p.m. and five fire tenders were rushed to the spot. They took about half-an-hour to douse the fire completely," said an officer.
The reason for the fire seemed to be an electrical short circuit in an air-conditioner, the officer added.
No one was injured in the incident.
