New Delhi, Oct 18 (ANI): Congress President Sonia Gandhi will undertake a one-day visit to Mangalore today during which she is expected to ask her party workers to be fully prepared for the 2013 state assembly election.
Gandhi is expected to address Congress leaders of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district during her visit to Mangalore.
Gandhi's visit to Karnataka assumes significance, as the Congress is trying to re-establish its popularity in this region, which has now become a BJP stronghold.
According to certain media reports, Karnataka Congress now plans to fight the next assembly election under Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's leadership. (ANI)
