IAS officer transferred: Swamy accuses Congress of influencing Haryana Govt.

Patna/New Delhi, Oct 16 (ANI): Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday accused the Congress-led Central Government of influencing Haryana Government for transferring IAS officer Ashok Khemka, who was probing into all land dealings of Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra with DLF.

Swamy told media here that he was not surprised by the move as central government had always been involved in covering up their scams and wrong deeds.

"There is nothing surprising in that. Government has been defending Vadra from the beginning. There is nothing new, government has been involved in transfer of honest officials, looking for officers who can cover up their scams or influencing CBI," he said.

"At present there is only one solution to this problem till the new government comes to power that one should approach court and ask them to ask CBI to function under their jurisdiction," he added.

Speaking on the similar lines, Communist Party of India-Marxist leader Sitaram Yechury, said that government should order an independent inquiry and let everybody know the truth.

"We want that there should be an independent and honest inquiry in all the allegation made against Vadra so that everyone can know the truth. Congress should come clean in the matter soon and Haryana government should also clarify that on what basis have they issued transfer orders. As of now people are thinking that this transfer is in wake of probe in Vadra's land deals, so government should order an inquiry in the matter," said Yechury.

Khemka, who exposed widespread irregularities in land deals, was transferred out just three days after he ordered a probe into some of Robert Vadra's land deals with real estate giant DLF.

Khemka issued an order on his last day in office on October 15, cancelling the mutation of a 3.531-acre plot of land in Manesar-Shikohpur that Vadra had sold to DLF for Rs. 58 crore.

Three days earlier, Khemka issued a letter formally ordering an inquiry across four districts into the alleged 'under-valuation' of some properties registered by Vadra or his companies. (ANI)
