Agartala- Dhaka bus burnt in Bangladesh, no casualties

Narsinghdi (Bangladesh), Sept 23 (ANI): The "Maitree" passenger bus, running between Agartala and Dhaka was burnt by an angry mob, about sixty kilometres from Dhaka,here on Friday, sources informed.

Sources further claim that the Indian bus was not targeted specifically, and all twelve Indians on board reached Agartala safely yesterday.

The incident was a fallout of local political trouble.

The Agartala-Dhaka bus service was launched in September 2003, and offers direct surface communication between the two neighbors, in addition to the Kolkata-Dhaka bus service that was initiated in July 1999. (ANI)
