Sweden's GDP goes up

Stockholm, Sep 15 (IANS) Sweden's gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 1.3 percent in the second quarter this year compared with the same period of 2011, the Swedish Central Statistics (SCB) said.

The rate was adjusted one percentage point lower than the publication in July 2012. But the growth was still 0.7 percent higher compared to the first quarter this year, which was mainly attributed to household consumption, gross fixed capital formation and net exports, according to figures from the SCB.

Household consumption went up by 0.8 percent while public consumption rose by 0.4 percent compared with last year, reported Xinhua.

Gross fixed capital formation increased by 2.0 percent. Export remained unchanged compared with last year but import decreased by 1.0 percent, said the SCB Friday.
