New Delhi, Sep. 9 (ANI): Key BJP ally Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday said projecting Sushma Swaraj as the prime minister in waiting is "too premature" at the current stage.
Speaking to reporters here, SAD leader Naresh Gujral said that though Swaraj is suited for the coveted position, the numbers would make all the difference eventually.
"I am certain she would make a wonderful and a very good prime minister of India. There is no doubt about it, but who would be prime minister, it is too premature to say this. Eventually, it is numbers that will decide who is going to be the Prime Minister of India. All these things are open, and I have been saying it repeatedly, that eventually, it is numbers that will decide that who the prime minister of this country would be," he said.
Gujral was reacting to Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray's remark in an editorial published in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece 'Saamna'. (ANI)
