Apple iPhone 'already trounces' 8 contested Samsung phones in U.S.
Washington, Sept 1 (ANI): Apple's iPhone has already crushed eight Samsung smartphones that it wants to be banned in the U.S. markets, a study has revealed.
Advertising analytics firm Chitika measured a week's worth of U.S. mobile web traffic generated by the iPhone versus the eight contested Samsung phones.
The study showed that iPhones drove eight times the mobile web usage of all eight Samsung models combined.
In other words, iPhones accounted for 88 percent of all web traffic analyzed, versus 11 percent generated in total by all the Samsung phones, Wired.com reports.
According to the report, the study analyzed phone usage rather than sales.
Apple is seeking to ban Samsung's Galaxy S 4G, Galaxy S2 AT and T, Galaxy S2, Galaxy S2 T-Mobile, Galaxy S2 Epic 4G, Galaxy S Showcase, Droid Charge and Galaxy Prevail.
Apple submitted the list in a U.S. court a few days after a jury found Samsung copied the iPhone and iPad in creating and marketing its own products.
Apple's request for an injunction against the eight Samsung phones, as well as Samsung's attempts to have the jury's original verdict set aside, will be heard at a hearing on December 6. (ANI)
