Bangalore Police arrest 11 terror plot suspects (Update)

Bangalore, Aug.30 (ANI): Bangalore City Police on Thursday announced that they had foiled a terror plot with the arrest of eleven suspects.

Those arrested were allegedly trying to target important personalities, including MPs, MLAs and a renowned columnist of a Kannada daily.

Addressing media in the city, Bangalore's Police Commissioner J P Mirji said the interrogation of those arrested was going on and they most likely have links with terror outfits HUJI and Lashkar-e-Toiba.

One the terror suspects arrested is reportedly a journalist with an English daily and the other is a software engineer.

According to Mirji all the suspects are "under the age of 30". He said that weapons including a foreign made pistol was seized from them.

Bangalore Police were tipped off about the terror plot by the intelligence bureau.

The police refused to divulge more as the interrogation of the suspects is still on. (ANI)
