Opposition not in mood to talk: Bansal

New Delhi,Politics, Thu, 23 Aug 2012 IANS

New Delhi, Aug 23 (IANS) With parliament crippled for a third day Thursday over the BJP's demand for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's ouster, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal Thursday said the opposition was in no mood to talk.

"Maybe by Monday they will be ready to talk, presently they are in no mood for a dialogue," Bansal told reporters.

Highly places sources told IANS that the government was trying to call an all-party meeting Monday.

Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha chairman M. Hamid Ansari called leaders of all parties in the upper house after question hour was adjourned. The meeting remained inconclusive.

"The chairman sought views on how to end the impasse. However, no conclusion was reached," said a MP who attended the meeting.

Among those from the Bharatiya Janata Party who attended the meeting were Arun Jaitley and Ravishankar Prasad.

Bansal had earlier accused the BJP of deliberately stalling parliament, saying it did not want to discuss the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on coal blocks allocation.

"They have wasted two days. Had the house been running, there would have been a fruitful discussion. They are working as part of a pre-decided strategy to avoid a discussion on the issue," Bansal told reporters here.

"All other parties but the BJP are ready for a discussion in parliament. They just don't want the house to run," he said.
