Pleasant Wednesday, rains likely Thursday

New Delhi, Aug 22 (IANS) A day after the capital received the season's highest rainfall, it was an overcast pleasant Wednesday with little rain. The weather department, however, has forecast more showers ahead.

The capital received a total rainfall of 6 mm between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. Wednesday, much lesser than the 54 mm rain recorded a day before.

The maximum temperature was recorded one notch below average at 32.6 degrees Celsius, while humidity rose to a high of 97 percent.

The minimum temperature also settled one notch below average at 25.2 degrees Celsius.

"The sky will remain generally cloudy. Some spells of rain are likely in some parts of the city Thursday," an official of India Meteorological Department said.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 32 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The monsoon is expected to last in Delhi till Sep 20.
