London, Aug 22 (ANI): Russia has warned the West that it will not tolerate unilateral intervention in Syria.
The message from Russia came a day after President Barack Obama said any attempt by the Assad regime to use chemical weapons could trigger intervention by the United States.
According to The Independent, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said countries should "strictly adhere to norms of international law".
The warning came a day after a Japanese journalist, Mika Yamamoto, who worked for The Japan Press, was killed in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
She was hit by gunfire while she and a colleague were travelling with the Free Syrian Army (FSA), the paper said.
Two other journalists, Bashar Fahmi, a Palestinian reporter for the US government-funded broadcaster Al-Hurra, and Cuneyt Unal, a Turkish cameraman for the station, were also reported missing, it added. (ANI)
