Washington, Aug 18 (ANI): MSNBC co-host Toure has apologized for his use of "the N-word" on yesterday's edition of "The Cycle."
Toure, an African-American, had charged Mitt Romney of using "racial coding" and engaging in "n----rization" in his recent attacks on President Barack Obama.
"On yesterday's show in discussion about the presidential race, I used a word to make a point. In retrospect, I muddied the discussion by using the 'N-word," Politico quoted Toure, as saying, at the end of the opening segment.
"I could've made my point without that word. I shouldn't have used it, and for that I'm sorry," he added.
Toure made his comments during a segment in his show, while discussing Romney's assertions in a speech in Ohio, claiming that the Obama's presidency was "angry and desperate" and that the President should take his "campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago."
"You notice he said anger twice. He's really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man. This is part of the playbook against Obama, the 'otherization', he's not like us," he had said.
"I know it's a heavy thing, I don't say it lightly, but this is 'niggerization," he added.
MSNBC declined to make any comments on the matter. (ANI)
