West wanted for deposition in ladylove Kim's bitter divorce battle

London, August 17 (ANI): Kris Humphries' lawyers want Kim Kardashian's new boyfriend Kanye West to testify in the duo's ongoing divorce battle.

The socialite split from the basketball star last October just after 72 days of marriage and they have been locked in bitter legal wrangling ever since, with Humphries claiming the reality TV star used the nuptials as a publicity stunt to boost her earnings.

The case went to court in Los Angeles on Wednesday and during the hearing, Kardashian's attorney, Laura Wasser, told Judge Stephen Moloney how Humphries' lawyer's tried to reach West and wanted him to testify in the divorce case.

Wasser claimed that an order calling the rapper for a deposition was left in a box from U.S. store Nordstrom outside Kardashian's house, the Daily Express reported.

She also complained about the legal team's tactics, saying "A strange individual (was) outside my client's house (saying) he had a box for Mr. West."

Meanwhile, Humphries' lawyer Marshall Waller insisted that they only went to such lengths because West's attorneys have failed to return their calls.

"Our process server rang the doorbell and amazingly she (Kardashian) answered... He asked if (West) was present, and she said he was on the telephone. If Mr. West's attorney ever calls us back, we'll be happy to have a talk. But as a practical matter, that hasn't happened. We're jumping through hoops. We'll probably have to serve him in public," he told Los Angeles Superior Court.

During the hearing, Wasser also insisted that she was unhappy with the slow pace of the proceedings, as the star "just wants to be divorced" and has already paid more than 156,250 pounds in legal fees.

"To say I am frustrated is an understatement. I'm at a loss to figure out what the holdup is. They had a pre-nup and were married (for) 72 days," she told the judge.

However, the divorce now looks unlikely to be granted until 2013. The judge has ordered both sides to return to court on 28 November for a further hearing. (ANI)
