'Kya Dilli Kya Lahore' first look unveiled in Attari

Attari (Punjab), Aug 15 (IANS) Producer Karan Arora unveiled the first look of his film "Kya Dilli Kya Lahore", a light-hearted drama set in the post-independence era, here and says it was perfect place for the launch.

"I couldn't have found a better place than India-Pakistan (Attari-Wagah) border to unveil the first look of the film considering the backdrop of my film. Our film has a very different and non-political approach on India-Pakistan relationship," Arora told IANS prior to the launch of the first look Tuesday.

"Even if I had been from a big production house, I would have chosen this backdrop only," he added.

The cast of the film - Raj Zutshi, Manu Rishi, Vishwajeet Pradhan and Vijay Raaz, who has also directed "Kya Dilli Kya Lahore" - were present for the unveiling.

The story is about two soldiers from India and Pakistan each, who under certain circumstances come face to face and how from being enemies, they went on to become close friends.

However, getting permission to launch the first look here was not easy.

"We got the permission Wednesday afternoon... but I am thankful to the BSF (Border Security Force) and others that they gave us the permission," he said.

"Kya Dilli Kya Lahore" is not preachy, "but indeed it has a message of social harmony and oneness," said Arora.

"There is so much to share between both the countries and at the end of the day, they are as humane as us. There are so many things common between the two countries. We share the same emotions too and that is what the film also talks about," he added.

Arora isn't worried about commercial viability of the film.

"It took us two years to make the film with an appropriate cast. It is not like a typical Bollywood extravaganza, it is a simple film. I am really not worried about the commercial viability of the film but I know it is an honest film," he added.

He is planning to release it in November.
