Pyongyang, Aug. 14 (ANI): A statement released by North Korean media described the Olympics as a 'sacred festival promoting friendship and unity', but also launched an attack on its old foe, South Korea.
The rogue state described the South Korean Government as 'maniacs, traitors and human scum', claiming it had used the Games to launch a propaganda war against North Korea.
Referring to South Korea, the statement read: "The regime carried to London riff-raffs and human scum, a group of wicked men serving the policy of confrontation with the DPRK, and held a 'photo show on human rights in the north' in a street of London".
"The regime brought human rejects to the Olympics to escalate confrontation with the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea), not content with its attempted hideous terrorism for hurting the dignity of its supreme leadership," the statement added.
"This is another grave politically-motivated provocation against the DPRK and an insult to the Olympic spirit desired by mankind," the Daily Mail quoted the statement, as saying.
The rogue state praised the efforts of its own athletes, who won four golds and two bronzes, saying: "The world people are admiring the high spirit and might of the country of Mt Paektu which is emerging as a powerful and rich country under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un". (ANI)
