London, Aug 14 (ANI): Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that the Gunners would be competing for every major honour, including the domestic championship, and added that the club is in a better position at the start of the season when compared to the last season.
Arsenal has already signed three quality players Olivier Giroud, Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski.
"We have the desire to compete for honours. We are up for it and what we want is to come out of the season and know that we have given our best," The Sun quoted Wenger, as saying.
"I feel we did that last year, finishing third with the start we had. The first target is to do as well as we can in every single game but of course we want to fight for the championship," he added.
Podolski also exuded confidence over his Arsenal debut.
"It was a great match and in my first game I scored two goals, so it was very good. I have felt like a part of Arsenal from the first day and I am very proud to play here and wear the shirt," the Germany striker said. (ANI)
