Balmar Lawrie Q1 net up marginally

Kolkata, Aug 14 (IANS) State-run Balmer Lawrie Tuesday reported a marginal 1.6 percent increase in net profit at Rs.45.63 crore for the quarter ended June 30 from Rs.44.91 crore fore the corresponding period last year.

The Kolkata-based 'Mini Ratna" firm registered a profit before tax (PBT) of Rs.65.66 crore for the first quarter this fiscal as compared with Rs.64.19 crore for the same quarter last fiscal, according to a company release here.

Total income for the quarter under review clocked a gain of 12.52 percent quarter-on-quarter to Rs.683 crore from Rs.607 crore for the same period last year.

Balmer Lawrie is a diversified company manufacturing steel barrels, lubricants and engaged in logistics, project engineering and consultancy.
