40 Taliban militants killed

Kabul, Aug 12 (IANS) About 40 Taliban militants were killed by security forces in Afghanistan, the interior ministry said Sunday.
The anti-insurgency operations were carried out in more than half a dozen provinces, including Kunar, Laghman, Kandahar, Uruzgan and Logar, Xinhua reported.
The fatalities occurred in the past 24 hours till Sunday evening. Thirty others were arrested.
