It was Anna's decision to form a political party: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Aug 12 (IANS) The decision to form a political party was Anna Hazare's, former Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal said Sunday.

In a series of tweets, Kejriwal said a "malicious campaign" was on to show that the social activist was against the idea of a political move.

"Truth is, it was Anna's decision," Kejriwal tweeted. He said the "propaganda machinery" was trying to create a wedge between Hazare and members of the now disbanded Team Anna.

Kejriwal's tweet said that all efforts were on to create a rift a between Anna and him.

"Propaganda machinery working overtime to create wedge between Anna and us. They will fail this time also," the tweet read.

"Anna clearly directed us to start forming political party. If he says even once that he doesn't want us to do that, we will immediately withdraw," the former Indian Revenue Service officer said.

Hazare and his team announced their foray into politics after ending their agitation for a January Lokpal Bill August 3. Hazare later disbanded Team Anna.
