Cloudy morning in Delhi, rains in store

New Delhi, Aug 9 (IANS) It was cloudy and pleasant in the national capital Thursday, a day after rains lashed the city, with the minimum temperature recorded at 26.1 degrees Celsius. The met office has forecast rains later in the day.

"The skies will be cloudy. Some parts of the city will receive showers," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The maximum temperature is expected touch 34 degrees Celsius.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 83 percent.

The city received 10.7 mm of rain till 5.30 p.m. Wednesday. The maximum temperature was 34.6 degrees while the minimum was 27.8 degrees Celsius, both a notch above average.

The rain deficit so far this season is 58 percent.
