Olympic taekwondo: Gonzalez stuns Lee for gold

London, Aug 9 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Spain's Joel Gonzalez thrashed South Korea's Lee Daehoon for Olympic gold in the final of the men's flyweight taekwondo tournament Wednesday.

Gonzalez, a flyweight world champion, downed Lee 17-8 in a one-sided contest that saw the Korean beaten in every round.

Lee is a 2011 world champion in the bantamweight division.

Bronze medals in the tournament's two repechage bouts went to Oscar Munoz Oveido of Colombia and Russia's Alexei Denisenko.
