Russell Brand's dad faces bankruptcy

London, Aug 7 (IANS) British comedian Russell Brand's father is facing bankruptcy after failing to pay his rent of more than 13,000 pounds.

However, 67-year-old Ron Brand is refusing to ask his son for help, saying he would never want to "burden" him.

"Ron would never want to burden Russell with his problems and would never dream of asking for money. It's a really stressful situation but Ron is determined to work through his problems," dailymirror.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

Ron is due to appear in Guildford county court Tuesday, where a judge will decide whether to declare him bankrupt.
