Damascus, Mon, 06 Aug 2012 ANI

Damascus, Aug. 6 (Xinhua-ANI): Syrian Prime Minister Riyad Farid Hijab was sacked Monday of his post for unknown reason, the state TV reported.

The TV said that Omar Ghalawanji, vice prime minister, was appointed as the head of the caretaker government.

The reason behind sacking the prime minister could not be immediately known but it came just hours after a bomb ripped through the state TV building in the capital Damascus.

The brazen attack has dealt a blow to the current regime in the very core. (Xinhua-ANI)
