Seven killed in Turkish road accident

Ankara, Aug 2 (IANS) Seven people were killed in a traffic accident in northern Turkey Thursday, Dogan news agency reported.

The accident occurred in Boyabat district of Sinop province when a truck swerved out of control and the heavy equipment in its trailer toppled onto a nearby car, Xinhua quoted the report as saying.

The driver of the car and six passengers on board died at the scene, it added.

The truck driver, however, was detained following the incident and the Turkish police have launched an investigation into the accident.
