Gurgaon, August 2 (ANI): A local court here on Thursday refused a 14-day remand to police to interrogate the accused in the recent violence at Maruti plant in Manesar.
Magistrate Yachna Kaur Nagpal however, allowed police a seven-day remand, till August 9.
Interacting with mediapersons, Rajendra Pathak, the lawyer representing the workers of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), said, "The police had asked for 14-day remand to interrogate the accused. However, we said that there was no need to take them in remand for so many days and police needs merely four to five days to interrogate them."
Earlier, the accused workers, including chief patron Sandeep Dhillon, President Rammehar, Vice-president Sohan Kumar, legal advisor Ajmer Singh, Joint Secretary Pawan Kumar, General Secretary Sarvajeet Singh, cashier Suresh Kumar and executive members Rambilas, Amarjeet and Pradip Kumar were produced in the court.
