Allison Schmitt wins gold in women's 200-meter free

Washington, August 1 (ANI): British swimming champ Allison Schmitt added to her medal collection by winning the 200 freestyle with a powerful performance at the London Games on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old, who completed the race in 1 minute, 53.61 seconds, has already won silver in the 400-meter freestyle and bronze in the 400-meter freestyle relay, LA Times reported.
Camille Muffat of France, who had won the 400-meter freestyle in a terrific duel with Schmitt, took the second slot in the 200-meter at the Aquatics Center.
Bronte Barratt Australia won the bronze, edging American teenager Missy Franklin by one one-hundredth of a second. (ANI)
