Woman critical after jumping off Delhi flyover

New Delhi, July 31 (IANS) A 25-year-old woman was in a critical condition after she attempted to commit suicide by jumping off a flyover here Tuesday evening, police said.

Geeta, resident of west Delhi's Dwarka, jumped from Dwarka flyover around 5.30 p.m.

"She was taken to a nearby hospital where her condition is stated to be critical. No suicide note was recovered from the spot. Police are yet to ascertain the exact reason behind her decision to take the extreme step," said a police officer.

"Initial inquiries revealed that her marriage had been fixed somewhere by her parents, but she was not happy with the decision. It might be the reason that led her to take such a step," the officer added.
