Islamabad, July 30 (IANS) Teachers of a government school in Pakistan's Sindh province gave the institute premises on lease to tailors, mat-weavers and vegetable vendors, and permitted paid parking for vehicles on the grounds while the school was closed for the summer vacation.

Journalists saw at least eight tailors busy sewing inside empty classrooms of the Shah Muhammad Primary School in Larkana while some men were seen weaving mats in other rooms, Geo News reported.

Pushcarts of vegetable venders were seen in the verandah of the building.

The tailors were also seen using electric irons and other electrical equipment using the school's power supply.

The school watchman told Geo News the headmaster was responsible for the leasing of the school premises.

The district education department has begun an inquiry into the matter.
