Cloudy day in Delhi, light showers expected

New Delhi, July 28 (IANS) It was a cloudy, humid morning in the capital Saturday with the minimum temperature settling 27.8 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average. The weather office has forecast rains later in the day.

"Generally cloudy sky with light rain/thundershower. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 33 degree Celsius," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to IMD, the city received a total of 12 mm of rainfall till Saturday morning.

Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. was 89 percent.

The skies opened up and it rained finally in the capital Friday evening, bringing relief to a parched city that for weeks watched the dark clouds float by.

Friday's maximum temperature was a notch above average at 35.3 degrees, while the minimum temperature was two notches above average at 28.7 degrees.
