Mumbai, July 26 (IANS) Two cousins were drowned Thursday in a lake in Navi Mumbai where they had gone for a bath, police said.

The victims have been identified as Shah Rukh Khan, 17, and Bargat Khan, 21. The incident took place in a lake in Kalamboli area of Navi Mumbai.

"Both victims were cousins and used to go to the lake to take bath every day. However, they did not know how to swim and bathed only by sitting on the step of the lake," an official from Kalamboli Police station told IANS.

Later a neighbour reported that their buckets were found lying near the lake but the duo was nowhere to be seen.

"Their other brother reported the matter to the police and their bodies were recovered from the lake later," the official added.
