Sofia Vergara joins cast of 'Family Guy'

Los Angeles, July 24 (IANS) Actress Sofia Vergara, who was recently crowned the highest-paid actress on television by editors at Forbes magazine, has joined the cast of hit comedy "Family Guy".

She will play lead character Peter Griffin's fantasy love interest in the show, reports starpulse.com.

The episode featuring the 40-year-old will air during the 11th season, set to premiere Sep 30. There will also be a number of surprise appearances by Johnny Depp, Ryan Reynolds and "Twilight" hunk Kellan Lutz.

Vergara is quickly becoming one of the most highly-sought after stars on TV.

According to ew.com, she will voice the role of Tia Sofia during a hip-hop-themed episode of animated programme "The Cleveland Show".
