Agartala, July 22 (IANS) Assam Rifles said Sunday that it had created two new posts of inspector general to improve anti-insurgency operations in India's northeast.
The posts will improve coordination among various states in the region, an Assam Rifles statement said.
Headquartered in Shillong, the 177-years-old Assam Rifles is under the operational control of the army but its administrative control is with the central home ministry.
