Bengaluru, July 19 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna on Thursday hailed Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) decision to host a One-Day International (ODI) and T20 series against Pakistan in December.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Krishna said, "I think this would further strengthen the bilateral relationship. I will be visiting Islamabad sometime in the beginning of the second week of September."
The ODI series, the first after five years, will consist of three one-day and two Twenty20 matches.
The ODIs will be played at Chennai, Kolkata and Delhi while the venues for the two T20 games will be Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.
The last match to be played between them was the 2011 World Cup semi-final in Mohali, which was watched by Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh along with his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani.
The sporting ties between the neighbours had snapped after the 2008 Mumbai attacks.(ANI)
