Pakistani held with weapons in Madagascar

Antananarivo (Madagascar), July 19 (IANS) A Pakistani national has been arrested on charges of kidnapping and possessing illegal weapons in the island nation of Madagascar, off the east coast of Africa, Xinhua reported Thursday.

Police at Madagascar's Central Service of Criminal Affairs said they arrested four people, including one Pakistani identified as Jaffar Iounouss.

Five rifles, four automatic pistols and two grenades were seized from them.

They were arrested for kidnapping, association with criminals and holding of illegal weapons, police said.

The suspects were plotting a kidnapping when they were held, police said.
