London, July 19 (ANI): French winger Florent Malouda has been told by Chelsea that he can leave the club as manager Roberto Di Matteo has clearly told his players that they have a choice of either performing well during a pre-season tour or be prepared for a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea last night took their spending this summer to more than 65 million pounds as Brazilian starlet Oscar passed his medical at Stamford Bridge and was granted a work permit.

Malouda's 75,000 pound-a-week wage demands are acting as a dampener for a move, but Brazilian trio Santos, Botafogo and Vasco Da Gama are keen on the French international.

Yossi Benayoun and Gael Kakuta also have question marks hanging over them.everal youngsters are set to be sent out on loan, unless they convince Di Matteo pre-season that they are good enough to be part of his first-team squad.

Striker Romelu Lukaku, midfielder Josh McEachran and new signing Kevin De Bruyne have all been told by Di Matteo that if they fail to perform during the pre season tour, then they would be loaned to other clubs.

"I will be talking to Florent this week," The Daily Star quoted Di Matteo, as saying.

"Pre-season gives me a great opportunity to see these players in a competitive game. The final decision on who will go out on loan will be made when we get back from tour," he added. (ANI)
