Pete Doherty booted out of luxury Thai rehab

London, July 18 (ANI): Troubled rocker Pete Doherty has been thrown out of a rehabilitation unit in Thailand for being too disruptive for other patients, just weeks after starting intensive treatment to beat his long-running drug addiction.

The former Libertines frontman, who has battled heroin and crack cocaine demons for ten years, checked into The Cabin in Chiang Mai at the end of June.

Speaking of the decision to remove the rocker from the program, director Alastair Mordey told the Daily Mail that he was discharged due to "therapeutic reasons", the Daily Express reported.

"It is important to maintain the integrity of the treatment programme for the other clients to have a good chance of recovery. Pete understands this and therefore the reasons behind why we have asked him to leave," Mordey said.

"Although our parting with Pete is amicable, we are of course disappointed to see him leave. We hope some of the things he has learnt here will help him in the future and look forward to the day when Pete decides to consider recovery again," he added.

The star has failed rehab attempt on previous occasions as well, when he spent six weeks at Clouds House in Salisbury in 2007.

He has also undergone several stints at The Priory in London. (ANI)
