St. Petersburg, July 17 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A female police officer in St. Petersburg was kicked out of the force after her husband was found in possession of five stolen cars and a tractor.

The man was exposed by police tracking a stolen Lexus, which was discovered along with the other vehicles in Levashovo village, part of St. Petersburg, police said Monday.

The 41-year-old house owner was arrested. It did not release his name, but said he was married to a member of the force, district investigator Olga Tolokonnikova.

Tolokonnikova was fired after her husband was detained. The man was charged with large-scale theft, punishable with up to 10 years in prison, and the Investigative Committee - Russia's analogue of the FBI - is probing Tolokonnikova's involvement in the car theft.
