Two die as car falls in river in Bengal

Kolkata, July 16 (IANS) Two people including an executive engineer with the railways were killed and one other injured after the car they were traveling fell into a river in West Bengal's Darjeeling district, police said Monday.

The incident happened when the car carrying Debojit Bordoloi, an executive engineer with North Frontier Railway, and another person fell 300 feet below into the Reang River in Kalimpong, Additional Superintendent of Police (Kalimpong) S. Lepcha said.

The bodies of Bordoloi and the other deceased were fished out in the evening. The driver has been admitted to a hospital with serious injuries.
