Chennai, July 16 (ANI): Former Indian skipper Krishnamachari Srikkanth on Monday welcomed the resumption of bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan, saying the revival of cricket between the two neighbours augurs well for world cricket.
Interacting with mediapersons here, Srikkanth said, "Its good that Indo-Pak ties are being resumed. It's a small beginning with three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two T20s. Hopefully, it starts building up to Test series."
He added that sports is one of the best ways to improve international relations.
"Sports is one of the best ways to develop relations between two countries. It (resumption of ties) is good for world cricket and general public," he added.
Earlier in the day, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Working Committee decided to host Pakistan for a three-match one-day series and two T20 internationals in the third week of December, ending a five-year moratorium on bilateral cricket between the two neighbours.
The venues for the 50-over games would be Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, while Bengaluru and Ahmedabad will host two T2o internationals. (ANI)
