Indian mission appeals for peace, calm in Male

Male (Maldives), July 15 (ANI): India's High Commission in Male, Maldives, on Suinday, appealed to that country's political parties to maintain peace and calm amid escalating tensions.

Expressing the recent escalation of tensions in Maldives as a matter of serious concern, the Indian high commission called on all parties and socio-political organizations to maintain peace and calm and cooperate in the efforts to maintain law and order.

A high commission release also reiterated the need for all parties to work together in the spirit of cooperation and reconciliation to resolve all the outstanding issues.

In this context, the high commission release said it is important that setting aside their differences, the parties should hold talks to ameliorate the current situation so that day to day life of Maldivian people is not affected adversely. (ANI)
