World's top archer Deepika is now manager at Tata Steel

Jamshedpur, July 14 (IANS) World No.1 recurve archer Deepika Kumari has joined Tata Steel as a manager in the company's sports department.

Many eminent sportspersons have been employed by Tata Steel and they include Bachendri Pal, the first Indian woman to summit Mt. Everest, Arjuna and National Adventure Award recipient; Dibyendu Barua, chess Grandmaster and Arjuna awardee; Charles Borromeo, Padma Shri and Arjuna awardee; Bagicha Singh, Arjuna awardee; and Jayanta Talukdar, another archer representing India at the London Olympics, besides Deepika.

Born in 1994, Deepika joined Tata Archery Academy in 2008 and has since honed her skills there. She is one of India's biggest medal prospect in London.
