'Belittled' woman engineer sues Rolls-Royce for 135,000 pounds for sexual harassment

London, July 12 (ANI): A woman engineer is suing Rolls-Royce for more than 135,000 pounds on charges that she was groped and belittled by colleagues.

According to the Daily Mail, Orla Phelan, 31, told an employment tribunal that she was the only female in her team and that her life was made hell by two 'laddish' team members.

She said the pair, Mark Lee and Paul Gamble, revelled in a 'sexist and macho' culture at work.

They held 'puerile and lewd' conversations in front of her, during which they referred to women's breasts as 'assets'.

Phelan said she suffered severe depression and was later sacked when she refused to return to the team where she had suffered harassment.

She is suing Rolls-Royce for sex discrimination and unfair dismissal and is seeking more than 135,000 pounds for lost earnings and injury to her feelings. (ANI)
