Pleasant morning in Delhi, rains in store

New Delhi, July 11 (IANS) Early morning showers and a cool breeze made for a perfect start to the day in the capital Wednesday. The met office forecast more rains later in the day.

The city received 6.4 mm of rainfall from 8.30 a.m. Tuesday to 8.30 a.m. Wednesday as the minimum temperature settled at 27.2 degrees, average for this time of the year.

According to the met office, the skies will remain cloudy through the day and the city will get more rain towards the evening.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around the 34 degrees Celsius mark.

The rain Tuesday evening brought some respite from the heat in the city that has seen seen sporadic showers since the monsoon hit Saturday.

Tuesday's maximum temperature was 36.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above average while the minimum settled at 26.6 degrees Celsius, average for the season.
