'Fifty Shades of Grey' to hit big screen

Wellington, July 11 (ANI): Best selling erotic novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey' will soon be adapted into a movie, Universal Pictures has revealed.

'The Social Network' team of Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti have been selected as the executive producers for the film, Stuff.co.nz reported.

The announcement has triggered intense fan speculation about the movies's casting - Angelina Jolie and Jane Campion have been touted as the possible directors for the movie.

Kristen Stewart is being considered a favourite to play the virginal lead.

The E L James novel had started out as a fan fiction, featuring the lead characters of the 'Twilight' series.

Since being picked up by Vintage Books in March, the books had been originally published by Sydney's Amanda Haywood, the 'Fifty Shades' trilogy has sold 31 million print and digital books in 41 countries and 20 million in the US. (ANI)
