Washington, July 11 (ANI): Google has been sued by a U.S.-based technology firm in a bid to stop the Internet search giant from distributing its Chrome mobile web browser in merica.

EMG Technology claimed that Google infringed on one of its patents and is seeking money damages along with a preliminary injunction and ultimately a permanent one.

The Santa Monica-based company said Google infringes the patent 'by using EMG's patented simplified navigation system on smart phones and tablets,' The Los Angeles Times reports.

The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

According to the report, Google said it had not yet received a copy of the complaint and that it wouldn't be able to comment until it reviewed it. (ANI)
