Dotcom launches Twitter attack on NZ, US governments after extradition-hearing postponed

Sydney, July 10 (ANI): Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom vented his frustration on Twitter after an attempt to extradite him from New Zealand to the US has been postponed.

Dotcom's New Zealand-based defence lawyer, Paul Davison confirmed that the three-week extradition hearing, which had been due to start on August 6, has been postponed until March 25, which prompted the internet mogul, to launch an online attack against the United States and New Zealand governments.

"Extradition hearing delayed till March. Dirty delay tactics by the US. They destroyed my business. Took all my assets. Time does the rest," The Age quoted Dotcom, as tweeting.

"The NZ government is refusing a NZ resident due process and a fair defense. Shame on you John Key for allowing this to happen. Shame on you," the post added.

US authorities are reportedly trying to extradite Dotcom and three others to face racketeering, copyright and money laundering charges and could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Late last month, a high court ruling declared an armed police raid on Dotcom's Auckland mansion in January illegal, and claimed that the search warrants were too 'broad', while the police exceeded their powers in seizing what they did. (ANI)
