3,000 human traffickers punished in Pakistan in 2011

Islamabad, July 10 (IANS) A total of 2,861 human traffickers were brought to justice in Pakistan last year, parliament was informed Tuesday.
Minister of State for Interior Affairs Imtiaz Safdar Warriach told the National Assembly that in 2011, action was also taken against 1,629 travel agents and more than 8,300 people were probed, Online news agency reported.
He said the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), paramilitary forces, immigration and other security agencies were working day and night to stop human trafficking.
