UAE bakery feeds 5,000 Somali families a day

Sharjah, July 8 (IANS/WAM) A bakery in Mogadishu run by a charity organisation from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) provides bread for 5,000 families every day at refugee camps in the Somali capital.

The Sharjah Charity Association said its effort was part of the "Help Them" campaign announced by Sharjah ruler Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi to assist people affected by famine and drought in the Horn of Africa region.

Around 150,000 families get monthly benefits from the humanitarian project in Somalia.
