Thorpe reveals how he discovered his popularity among gays as a teenager
Sydney, July 8(ANI): Swimmer Ian Thorpe has confessed that he was just 15 when he discovered his popularity in the gay community.
In a staggering insight into the champion swimmer's state of mind during this year's failed comeback bid, the film reveals Thorpe's dark days in 2010.
Thorpe also confessed that his financial condition was precarious.
"I was down. I call it the dark times," The Daily Telegraph quoted Thorpe, as saying.
In the film, Thorpe is asked if he sleeps with men or women. He pauses before answering: "Ah, women."
The Aussie swimmer then details how, as a teenager, he discovered his strong appeal among gays.
"Being asked about (being gay) gets annoying. I think people feel threatened by me because they can't define exactly what I am," he said. (ANI)
