Dara Singh continues to be critical

Mumbai, Sun, 08 Jul 2012 ANI

Mumbai, July 8 (ANI): Wrestler-turned-actor Dara Singh, who is being treated at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in suburban Andheri here, continues to be critical.

The 83-year- old actor was admitted to the hospital here last evening following a cardiac arrest.

"The illness is of nerves. His health condition gradually deteriorated in the last seven to eight months, but his health condition was deteriorating very fast in the last four to five days. So, obviously it is getting difficult for him to walk or move around now as his nerves have weakened his body," said his son Vindu Dara Singh.

"He is very serious. We are not sure what has happened. We have left it to the doctors. Doctors were saying yesterday that he is critical, not now they are saying that he is better," he added.

Dara Singh, who has over 500 professional fights to his credit, played the role of Hanuman in the television adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayan. He also worked in some television serial shows, including Had Kar Di, which was aired on Zee TV.

He has acted in over 100 films. His latest Hindi movie is Jab We Met and his latest Punjabi movie is Dil Apna Punjabi. (ANI)
